What's Next? 6 Practical Steps To Purpose Discovery

A friend of mine wrote a post on facebook. The content of the post wasn't something strange. It's something most youths think seriously about frequently. It was an after-school-then-what kind of post.

There were several comments. However, one striking thing about the comments, though, not strange too, is that at least 90% of all those who commented said similar things. They were of the normal popular opinion; which is, after school, get a good job, make some money (for the guys most importantly) get married, raise kids... And in so doing, your life seems to step aside for those of your kids as you work harder and harder to cater for your ever growing family.

Is this what you really want?
Or will I say how you want it to happen? I’m sure you have lofty dreams of all the great things you wish to achieve with your life- your goals, dreams, visions, and aspirations. Why are most youths continually literally in intense obsessing about getting tied down in a permanent relationship when the more important thing is given little or no attention?

The focal point of this write up hence is about PURPOSE. Are you aware that each individual on earth has a SPECIFIC purpose for which he/she was created? I mean every single person has a unique and specific reason for existence which is different from any other person's.

Interesting as this fact may sound, sadly, less than 5% of people discover and fulfill to its maximum, the purpose of their existence.

This disheartening fact can be explained in two reasons:

       1.     Ignorance of the fact that you are a unique person with a definite purpose.
       2.     Lack of a conscious effort to discover and maximize your purpose.

However, fortunately, if you can read this, and you are unaware of your specific purpose, there's something you can do right away to salvage the situation.

First, come to terms with the fact that you're a unique person. Inasmuch as you’ll have role models or people who challenge you to action, no one's like you, or would ever be. You'll be faking if you try to copy exactly, someone else's lifestyle.

Keep in mind that if you fail to discover and maximize your purpose and potentials, you waste with them and hence keep the world in darkness of that specific area you're meant to bring light. It doesn't matter who you are or how you appear, whether poor, unpopular, not outspoken,  physically challenged, fatherless, orphaned, 'unwanted pregnancy' resulting in you, abandoned ... The list is endless, but it still doesn't in any way make any difference.

Secondly, you must have to make a conscious effort in discovering your purpose. Reading this write up is commendable and a step in the right direction. But you must realize that you still have to seek out more information.

It seems overwhelming & difficult to try to discover this purpose of yours for which you were created, but it's actually one of the easiest things anyone of age can do if you’re willing and determined.
I may not know your purpose; even your closest relative probably won't, but I can bet that in one way or another, YOU KNOW. Just that you probably haven't seen it in this light before now. Right from the day you became aware of yourself, till date, you've been thinking about it whether consciously or subconsciously. Does this surprise you?

Here are six (6) possible ways to identify your specific purpose. Try to find out the real truth from the depth of your heart, and avoid sentiments.
      1.      You always complain about, or discuss the problem(s) associated with your purpose with great passion and commitment.
      2.      You can engage in activities associated with your purpose even without being paid or thanked.
      3.     You are enthusiastic and happy involving yourself in those activities. You also seem to do them with much ease, skill and efficiency.
      4.    You engage in them for long hours without getting tired, bored, or even in some cases, hungry.
      5.     You always have it on your mind in one way or another and may sometimes be triggered by situations and events. For example, if you are asked about the problem with an organization, the first one that’ll probably come to your mind will likely be associated with it
      6.    Emotions associated with it are always stronger or more intense than normal, e.g., if you're sad about it, you may even start weeping.

It’s also important you realize that your purpose is not in any way restricted to your course of study (it might even be unrelated to it).
Your discipline might just be a stepping stone to its achievement.

Finally, I conclude by saying that the ball is in your court. All you need for this process is at your disposal. You can choose to start the process of discovering your purpose or you can just relax and hope things turn out fine tomorrow.

Well, if you choose to relax, I wish you well. But if you choose to do something, then START TODAY! Start working with this information today.

MAKE A LIST of all that can ever give you joy, satisfaction and fulfillment & which fits the above six criteria and start working with them. Thoughts and imaginations must be augmented with definite action. If you make this list, you’ll notice that most of the items will be pointing towards the same direction. Try to find out this direction.
This is the best available time ever to identify your purpose, and then the problem of how your future will look like is taken care of because your purpose determines whatever decisions or steps you take in life.

With diligence, planning and commitment, I'm quite sure you'll make it. I wouldn't write this if I wasn't.

Wishing you Success & Superb Excellence,
See you at the top!
