Every day is a new opportunity.
I saw this statement on a large billboard somewhere along Airport road, Abuja Nigeria, where I live. It was an ad for a company I can't remember well now, probably a bank. It was bold; you wouldn't miss it if you were going to the airport.
When I saw it, I read it as carefully as the speed of the automobile I was on would allow, and subsequently in my mind.
I gave it a thought. Everyday is a new opportunity. That's true, you know. I know you know that already. Everyone knows that everyday is a new opportunity. But do you really know it, as to applying it in your day to day life?
Is the fact that everyday is a new opportunity really clear to you?
If it is, why dwell on your past mistakes and screw ups? Why not focus on how much you can make of today, instead of trying to make up for yesterday, which is permanently gone?
Why not grab the opportunity that the new day has offered you to make yourself a better person than you were yesterday? Knowing that relationships are everything, why not be friendlier, nicer and kinder to people, irrespective of how they treat you?
Why not grab the opportunity that the new day has given you to make new friends, learn new stuff, become more valuable, both intellectually and financially?
The new day is valuable. It is nature's reset button, where everyone can begin on a clean slate.
I know, the next day may not completely eliminate some bad memories or events or the consequences of some action you have taken in the past, but why not begin with the new day to start the journey to making the new you?
Why not take the opportunity that the new day has provided you?
